With so many top-notch eateries available for every possible price point, it’s mighty difficult to pick a favourite from LA’s bustling food scene. In this post, we’ll be taking a quick look at one of our overall favourites, SQIRL.
SQIRL has been around for six years or so and has made a real name for itself thanks to a stunning and varied menu, excellent fresh ingredients, and a menu that is affordable for anyone. Grab a breakfast dish for under ten bucks, lunch for under fifteen, and a range of delicious drinks for less than five dollars.
A lifestyle cafe at heart, SQIRL prides itself on using great, fresh ingredients for classic and contemporary cuisine. They serve their breakfast dishes till four pm, making them a great choice for a late brunch, and well suited to a student lifestyle! They offer a classy aesthetic down to every little detail, the location is great, the cafe stylish and cool, and all cups and saucers, plates and cutlery are handpicked to match the tasteful overall design.
The menu offers a range of artfully curated dishes, including egg dishes, sweet pastries and pancakes, sandwiches, salads and hot food. Our personal fave, though, has to be their renowned rice bowls. In addition to their regular menu picks, they also regularly rotate a seasonal menu, so there are always pleasant surprises on the menu. Be sure to try out the delightful Sorrel Pesto Rice (topped with a poached egg) if you get the opportunity. You won’t regret it!
Their drinks selection is equally as exciting as their culinary treats, and if you’re in the neighbourhood for quality coffee, then look no further. They offer a range of Japanese and oriental teas, too, as well as freshly squeezed juices, fresh home-made lemonades and tonics (a must try!), and plenty of other attractive alternatives.
